25 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall

This weekend was one of the most important anniversaries in the history of the Berlin city - the fall of the Berlin Wall, which happened on 9th of November 25 years ago. Therefore, the city prepared symbolic boarder of lights, which consisted of thousands illuminated balloons. The 15 km line of balloons was placed thought the heart of Berlin, where the Wall used to be. The event started on Friday, 7 November and ended on Sunday 9 November, when the balloons were released.

On Friday after work we went with some friends to one of the main gathering points Brandenburg Gate. Everything seemed to be ready; the stage, food and beverage stands were there.

And most importantly, the line of balloons was ready. "Lichtgrenze" - boarder of lights divided the city in two, just like the Wall used to.

There were a lot more visitors on Sunday night. We arrived shortly after they started to release the balloons, one by one. They symbolized the end of the division and happiness that came with it.

The Colored Fun

Traditionally, we attended The Color run in Berlin.



Weather was perfect to have some fun. We came at the stadion before the start of the run to pick up our Fun packages. The (standard) package consists of:

The running t-shirt

The start number and the strip

The colors

We couldn't resist the smell of fresh crepes.

The main area was full of colors and surrounded with positive energy.

It was time to open the bags with colors and get ready for the happiest 5k on the planet!

The animator announced start of the run and colors started to fly in to the air...

And off we go. The first kilometer was marked with yellow color.

The second one was the green one.

And somewhere in between we were already fully colored.

The following kilometer was blue.

Before we entered the last kilometer, we stopped at drinking spot to have some water.

At last we entered the last kilometer which was pink.

And right before the finish line we got another refreshment - non-alcoholic beer.

And the finish line!

We faced very interesting way of cleaning...

After half an hour of pure enjoyment and happines we decided to share this feelings also with our stomachs: the curry-wurst time!

On the way home we experienced a lot of cyclers while it was the eco-day and the roads were closed for cars.

Afrika v Berlinu

Najina naslednja gurmanska dogodivščina je bila v afriški restavraciji, v centru Berlina.

Že zunanjost je napovedovala pravo afriško vzdušje. Ko pa sva vstopila v restavracijo, pa se je afriško vzdušje le še stopnjevalo.

Postregle so naju tradicionalno oblečene natakarice.

Izbira jedi je bila zelo zahtevna, saj večino jedi nisva poznala.

Zato sva izbrala jed za dva, ki je zvenela zelo dobro

Na mizo so nama poleg ekostičnega mongovega in bananinega piva najprej prinesli neklasično govejo juho.

Sledil je drugi hod in na mizo je prispel poseben zelenjavni polpet.

Sledila je glavna jed, ki je bila sestavljena iz dveh mesnih jedi (piščančjih prsi ter jagnjetine) pripravljenih na zelo zanimiv in poseben način. Za prilogo sva bila deležna okusne (nerazkuhane) zelenjave ter riž pokrit s kokosom, da se ni ohladil.

Žal za sladico ni bilo več prostora. Pravzaprav je bila sladica že vključena v pivu.

Sem se zagotovo še vrneva saj morava poskusiti še ostale eksotične jedi. Za konec pa še pozdrav...
