When in Hamburg do as the Hamburgers do

This weekend was dedicated to German city Hamburg. We invited two friends, Soly and Pasco, to join our adventure.

The main reason for going to Hamburg was to attend a half marathon. We arrived one day before the event to see some of the city's sights. We started at the south where the first thing we saw was the huge dock.

Along the water is the famous fish market. If we came earlier, and by earlier we mean at 4 am, we could feast ourselves with the delicious fish dishes. It is a very famous after party destination. But at this time in the afternoon, we could only move forward. The fish market was already closed.

As the wind blew through our hair we enjoyed the view of the river and other people passing by.

We were all very excited when we noticed the advertisement for the next day's event.

In the distance we saw a known destination. Our stomachs announced it was time to eat.

Of course, as in all Hard Rock Cafes, the queue was long, so to begin with we visited the winter garden. Shortly after that we got our table. When we all got our food... Well... Almost all of us...

OK, now we all have our food :)

And it was delicious. Some of us tried the hamburgers - the food, not the people! Enough said, they were delicious.

We continued our walk along the river.

Some of us used every possible situation to be better prepared for the next day's event.

We approached some touristic attractions, so we decided to visit the mini Wunderland. The tour started with the city of Utopia, which reminded us a lot of Berlin. The exhibition showed the development of the city from the early ages - from the cave man - to today.

I guess we can speak on behalf of everyone, when we say that the most amazing were the Swiss Alps and the airport. The details that were presented were mind blowing. And the amount of naked people as well.... Very German...

Swiss Alps

Swiss Alps - Train bridge

Swiss Alps - Train station

Airport - Airplane landing...

In the exhibition was also our fall destination, but more about that - well, in the fall...

Greeting from Hamburg,

Jerneja and Boris
